today suppose to be derek's actual bdae.. but we're on our way up to the mts...
waHHH today is the day i've been waiting for~ up to the mountains...me, derek and steffi were super tired.. we were suppose to leave by 10.30am.. but hahaha.. we only woke up then.. finally then we loaded the things onto the car.. and we went for lunch....
we went to this teahouse.. apparently everytime his parents drive up to the mountains.. they hav a meal there before going up... took some photos of it "low mee" hahaha.. frm normal to black after mixing.. erk.. dunno how much sweet soy sauce they put in there.. after lunch... the long drive goes on.. derek's dad is the one drivin... the drive took abt 2 hrs...
on the way.. we initially drove along the coast.. and i saw a lot of II (illegal immigrants)'s rundown hses... and more and more greeeeeenn... then.. after like 30mins of looking at scenary.. i finally fell aslp.. hahah waking up to snap a few more photos as we climb the mt and reach the resort... we were staying at the Pine Resorts...
we checked into the place at ard 2.30pm... there were pine trees.. all kinds of pine.. but dah..it's pine resorts after all.. wad do u expect...they initially booked a normal cabin at the resort.. which is quite small lah... so they decided to upgrade it to a bigger one.. hahah..not bad not bad... then we rested till like 3.15pm like that.. and we set off to drive to the mt. kinabalu national park
which was like wad...5-10mins away... it was gettin misty as we went there.. but this is apparently normal if u're to b in the mountains near evening.. they brought me to the exhibition at the lounge and i didn't take any pics since.. alot were abt plants and bugs in the mountain.. hahah BUGS. get it why already? hahaha oh well.. snapped photo here and there and head off to the botanic garden... it's closing at 4pm.. and we reach it's doors at 3.55pm.. i wonder wad's wrong with my journey this time in sabah.. alwaes arriving at places 5mins before they close.. so we got in free againnn... while walking ard.. then we saw this canto tour grp inside.. so we decided to follow as both of derek's parents understand canto.. and see wad can we learn.. we found mini venus-flytraps.. or something like that.. and then we decided that we shld head out.. since the tour grp is walking on VERY slowly and his parents were scared that we will get lock in as the reception didn't register that we're inside.. hahaha.. apparently.. here's rafflesia as well.. and it's suppose to be smelly.. but need to go deeper into the place.. and there wasn't time to do it.. as it was getting dark and misty... so we juz went to a fake rafflesia.. where they will always take a photo.. and head back to the cafe to have tea..
the cafe's menu is made out of treebark.. so.. authentic.. haha. and it went blackout as well while we were sitting there.. oh well we're in the mountains~ wad do u expect..
after which we headed towards the mt. kinabalu resort.. pple live there.. then they start climbing the mt at 12mn.. to reach the top in time to see sun rise.. unfortunately.. i didn't manage to do it this time rd.. hopefully i can go back again to climb.. i've never seen sunrise...(yes yes i can hear pple telling me cos i wake up late.. allalala)
when we went back.. derek's uncle..is already there with his wife and kids ons of them is 10yrs old onli.. but nearly as tall as me. OMG...hahah they bought this super fat and heavy bananas frm the marketplace nearby.. hahah see already make me full.. n they fried some prawn crackers.. we hang ard the place.. play badminton.. and chit chat.. till it was dinner time and we had dinner at the resort's restaurant.. food was alright... nothing mch happened after dinner
except more chit chat and badminton.. then we all went off to slp to prepare for tml...
PS we found this really big mozzie.. in his uncle's rm... didn't kill it though.. muz b very nutrious up here in the mountains.. hahah or else how to become so big...
